| Uptown east band A Little Biography Uptown East was formed when these four studio musicians decided to form a dance group for the thirty and up crowd featuring songs from Steely Dan, Chicago, Tower of Power, Earth Wind and Fire, and many more… The bands musicianship and versatility allows for a great evening of entertainment you will surely never forget. Just to watch them play is a music lesson in its self. John Clark / Lead Vocals John has reached thousands with his golden voice… As lead singer in over a dozen pop bands in Baltimore… Heat and The Cold Sweet Horns, Rubber Band,Clay Hunt Band, Probable Cause, John Clark is a well know name. His versatileity, personality and front man showmanship make for a great evening of entertainment Tim Tamassia / Keyboards & Vocals As a studio player Tim has performed and produced hundreds of songs for people and works very closley with Rick at the Studio. His perfect pitch, unique style, incredible ear and versatileity separate him from every other keyboad player in the area. Tim has played with almost everyone in the Baltimore area and I can’t think of anyone better in this business. Rick Colfer / Drums & Vocals Rick has been a studio session drummer for years in New York and worked in a jingle house playing on hundreds of both Radio & TV commervials and continues doing session work in Maryland today. He has played on hunderds of artists albums and continues to do so. Rick was also the heart beat for some of the hottest bands in Baltimore, New York and Florida …The New Censations, Admirals, Breakaway, Cats, Ravens, Carmel, Sunnyland Blues Band, Larry Scottt and many more…He has played for National Acts as well . (Ed Callan - Marshall Tucker Band), ( Lenny Grazier & Bill Bunky Nelson - Charlie Bird Band), (Johnny Neal and Randy Coleman - Allman Brothers Band), and most recently at the 2008 Western Maryland Blues Festival Rick played for The Bobby Flurie Band (guitarest for the Pointer Sister and Quick Silver Messenger Service). Paul Soroka / Saxophone & Keyboards & Vocals Paul started his musical career playing the club circuit. He then secured a gig that put him on the road with The Greg Arnold show (the character "Nuke Lalush" was based on "Bill Durham"). This led him to the San Francisco scene where he replaced Robben Ford to perform with the Gary Smith Blues Band. Paul is more than capable in all styles; fusion, jazz, rock, pop, R&B, folk, funk, gospel, and country. He has credits which include T.V. themes and commercials. The list of bands and players Paul has left his imprint on include Royal 5 Plus 1, Wishbone, Doug Atwell, Hurricane Hoover, Crack the Sky, and Tony Sciuto (Little River Band). He is a co-writer with Dennis Chambers on Getting Even; Carl Filipiak on Electric Thoughts and Peripheral Vision; and Stuff I Like. Uptown East are true chameleons of the industry.
